A few weeks ago on local radio talkshow Millásreggeli, our co-founder, Levente Szabados, discussed the essence of Microsoft Copilot and its applications within Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel or Word. It’s important to note that there are several types of Copilot, but here the focus was on M365 Copilot features, which are directly integrated into Microsoft Office applications.
A Parallel to the Internet
During the conversation, the early stages of the internet’s spread were also mentioned. The hosts recalled how they initially used Yahoo and Netscape, with email being their first online tool. Just as creating an email address was necessary for internet communication back then, today, we also need to recognize when and how to apply AI, such as ChatGPT, to specific tasks. Microsoft Copilot bridges this challenge: there’s no need to seek out AI separately, as it automatically integrates into daily workflows, like in Excel.
Why Co-pilot and Not Pilot?
The question may arise: why co-pilot and not pilot? The answer is simple: Copilot doesn’t replace the user but complements them. We remain in control; the decisions are still in our hands, with AI merely assisting and supporting us.
Seamless Integration into Workflows
One of the biggest advantages is that Copilot integrates directly into familiar work tools like Microsoft Office. Microsoft leverages the fact that its platform is one of the most widespread for office work, though other AI solutions also offer similar functionalities. For example, the hosts mentioned the Deepl translation tool and Google’s AI tools, which can also help increase efficiency.
Challenges of Using AI
Many people are still uncertain about how these tools can be used. When we receive the advice to ‘ask anything’ from AI, it’s often more confusing than helpful. We need to learn how to ask effective questions, just like we once learned to use internet search engines.
Use Cases
AI can be especially useful for completing complex tasks where users lack either the knowledge or the time. For instance, many people are not familiar with all of Excel’s features, but Copilot can help perform more complicated tasks quickly and efficiently, such as in complex data processing scenarios. However, AI can also offer support for simpler tasks, like drafting a product description for a marketplace such as eBay.
Why Work with Us?
At Neuron Solutions, we’ve developed our own methodology, the AI Launchpad service package, which supports the implementation of AI within companies. This includes helping our clients fully leverage the benefits offered by Microsoft Copilot. If you’d like to learn more, feel free to get in touch with us.
