On 12.12.2022 on Millásreggeli, Levente Szabados, co-founder and senior advisor of Neuron Solutions, was asked about what will happen in 2022 and what is possible in 2023.
Levente Szabados searched for the answer to the question in the title for us in a very catchy way, by asking the latest machine learning model, ChatGPT. Let the artificial intelligence itself tell us what it achieved in 2022 and, more interestingly, what it expects for 2023 in terms of its own development?
Levente got a confident answer for his question. The model predicts that autonomous (self-driving) cars will become dominant in 2023 and that general-purpose AI will emerge. Wow!
Levente added: “We’re laughing now, asking an AI system what its future will be, but it’s a bit of a good summary of 2022 to be talking about this.”
Not to worry though, we could get a summary of the past year from a non-artificial intelligence. Levente believes that there have been two big spectacular and readable advances recently: the emergence of the generative art model represented by DALL-E and Stable Diffusion, and the text-based system OPENAI ChatGPT, which can chat with a human in an informative and conversational style. The latter is what Levente asked to predict his own future.
But where does it lead? After all, these systems have been fun for many now – some have generated interesting images, others have philosophised with the artificial intelligence – but they will be of far greater value to those who learn to use them well.
One of the hosts mentions creative artists, saying that the system gives them a crutch, a great basis – for example, generating a picture or writing a sonnet – from which, with a few tweaks, they can create a great piece of art.
But Levente points out that such a system can be a great companion not only in the field of art, but also in science. For example, it is conceivable that in the future, researchers who are able to use such AI systems in their scientific search will be much more efficient and in a better position than those who work without them.
For Levente, the AI system Galactica, launched just a few months ago, is already a great help when he needs to search the scientific space for relevant material for his current research among the thousands of publications.
But that’s not all, Levente’s wish was also mentioned in the conversation, as well as other predictions of AI. Find out more and listen to the conversation here in Hungarian.
