We have held a 3 day online Applied Artificial Intelligence Training Course for the Technical Directorate of Magyar Telekom (Hungarian subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom Group). This was especially exciting for our team, since some of us worked in telecommunications before launching Neuron Solutions. Our aim was to hand over our AI expertise backed by our telecom experience to Magyar Telekom.
The main objective of the course was that participants build practical „working” knowledge in addition to the foundations and theory of AI. To make this happen, we put the following topics together for the course.
First, we discussed the foundations of AI. Among other things, we explained what is and what is not AI, why this is different from, and is capable of more than traditional mathematical statistics and which are its main concepts. We took the example of a neural net to demonstrate how it works in essence. As a next step, we demonstrated what can be the practical business benefits of AI through world-wide success stories. Finally, in this section, we also discussed the limitations of this technology.
After that we jumped a deep dive into machine learning (ML) technologies which actually mean AI in practice, discussed how to deal with data necessary for training ML algorithms and presented the platforms and tools to be used for real-life AI applications. We put attention to latest trends and applications such as reinforcement learning (RL) which is used in self-driving vehicles.
We also discussed how to implement AI solutions in the enterprise, i.e. how to organise and manage AI projects successfully.
The real-life use cases which were presented during the training course had been brought in from various industries and markets. However, we paid special attention to show how AI can be applied in telecommunications. With the more than 20 participants we managed to take the highest possible advantage of the online education method. As a result, we held a highly interactive training.
